MANILA, Philippines — Following former congressman Zaldy Co’s explosive allegations that he misappropriated public funds on behalf of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the Palace said the former House budget committee chair was lying to save himself.
Co earlier accused the president and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez of ordering him to insert P100 billion into the budget. The former lawmaker also implicated Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, alleging she relayed the supposed order during the bicameral conference committee.
