LEGAZPI CITY — Super Typhoon “Uwan” (international name: Fung-wong) left a trail of destruction across the Bicol region, toppling homes, power and communication lines, and damaging agriculture and infrastructure.
In Catanduanes province, Gov. Patrick Azanza said in a phone interview with the Inquirer on Wednesday (Nov. 12) that over 25,000 houses — with no breakdown yet of those damaged or destroyed — were ruined, while some 230,000 residents in 11 towns were affected by the typhoon.
